The holidays are a time for celebration, connection and sometimes a rollercoaster of emotions. The emotional depth of the holiday season is perfectly captured in iconic movie scenes: from Clark Griswold’s epic meltdowns to Buddy the Elf’s hilarious introduction to his biological father. These scenes have cemented their place as holiday staples and often remind us of the complex feelings that can come with the season.

But what if we took a step back and looked at these moments through a new lens?

We invited Jodie Voth, marriage and family therapist and manager of employee assistance services at Manitoba Blue Cross, to do just that. We cued up a few of our favourite holiday movie scenes and asked Jodie to share a fresh take on the characters and moments we know so well.
