Carole Soucis
Retired Lawyer; Certified Mediator, Facilitator, and Trainer, President and CEO of Studio17 Mediation Inc.

Carole has over 30 years of experience in organizational, community, intercultural, deep-rooted, and identity-based conflict management and resolution. She has worked in the private and public sectors, in Canada and abroad, as a lawyer, adjudicator, facilitator, mediator, negotiator, and trainer. She has held various positions in the Canadian federal public service, responsible for the management and resolution of conflicts related to immigration, indigenous, international, organizational, and refugee matters.

Known for her leadership, dynamism, rigour, and engagement, Carole guides individuals, groups, organizations, and communities to prevent, manage, and resolve their conflicts effectively, positively, and relevantly. Commitment, comprehension, and empathy are at the core of her practice. The power of her approach lies in the application of powerful principles that acknowledge the value, unicity, complementarity, and interdependence of each individual and group of individuals.

Carole is a practitioner, trainer, and honoured fellow of the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution (CICR) and a former member of their Board of Directors. She teaches the CICR third-party neutral program in French, English, and Spanish, in Canada and abroad. Carole is a certified mediator by the Institut de médiation et d’arbitrage du Québec. She was also a certified mediator by Québec Bar (2003 to 2019) in civil, commercial, and work-related matters.

Carole has received several awards, distinctions, and recognition for her work and contribution to the field of conflict management and resolution. Carole is fluent and offers her services in French, English, and Spanish.
